Avoidance, we all do it. Sometimes without even realizing it. One minute, you know exactly what needs your attention… and the next thing you know, you're deep-cleaning the junk drawer, alphabetizing your spices, or scrolling through your phone like it's a full-time career.
Avoidance isn’t a flaw. It's a very human response to discomfort, uncertainty, and emotional weight. Our brains are incredibly creative at finding ways to not face the thing in front of us, whether it's a tough conversation, a personal goal, or a feeling we’d rather not feel. And honestly… sometimes the mental gymnastics we perform to avoid our own growth deserve an Olympic medal.
Today we’re talking about why we avoid, how to recognize when we're doing it, and how we can meet ourselves with humor, honesty, and compassion instead of judgment. Because the goal isn’t to shame ourselves into action, it’s to understand what’s going on beneath the surface so we can move forward with clarity and courage… even if that courage starts with five awkward, reluctant minutes at a time.
