ידוע פתגם של בעל יום ההולדת לפני הסתלקותו: "איך גיי אין הימל און די כתבים לאָז איך אייך". שהכוונה בזה היא – שע"י הלימוד בכתבי החסידות שלו, שבהם הכניס את עצמותו, יש לנו אותו עצמו כפי שנמצא במצב של עלי' השמימה; גם החידוש שנפעל ביום ההולדת שלו בכל שנה שייך ונפעל גם אצל כל ההולכים באורחותיו כו', ובפרט הלומדים כתביו באופן של "יתפרנסון", בהבנה והשגה דוקא, שעי"ז נעשה "יחוד נפלא שאין יחוד כמוהו"; את הכחות לכל זה "השאיר לנו" – לרשותנו, ורק צריכים לגלותו; ע"י הפצת המעיינות חוצה "קאתי מר דא מלכא משיחא", כפתגם ה"בעל שם טוב". כמו שע"י קריאה ב"שם", שהוא לכאו' ענין חיצוני, נפנה האדם לקוראו בכל עצמותו (וזה גם מעורר בו כחותיו הנעלמים וכו'), ומזה מובן שגם כאשר התפיסא בתורתו של בעל יום ההולדת אינה אלא במקצת, כמו קריאה ב"שמות" – תופסים את העצם כולו, ולכן יכול כאו"א לבוא למצב של "יחוד נפלא" עם הענינים הכי עמוקים של בעל יום ההולדת!

Synopsis

Before his histalkus, the Rebbe [Rashab] Nishmaso Eden said, “I am going to Heaven, and I leave the writings to you,” meaning: by studying his writings of Chassidus, in which he invested his very essence, we have the Rebbe himself, as he exists in the state of ascent to Heaven. The renewal of his life’s work that occurs every year on his birthday year is relevant and has an effect on everyone who follows his ways, particularly those who study his writings in such a way that they are “sustained by them” meaning with understanding and comprehension, which forms a “wondrous union that is unmatched by any other union.” He “left us” the abilities for all this and put them at our disposal; we need only to reveal it. The Baal Shem Tov said that “the master, king Moshiach, will come” as a result of spreading his wellsprings; just as a name is seemingly an external aspect of a person, but calling someone by their name arouses their entire essence, so too it understood that even if one only has a partial connection to the teachings of the Rebbe Nishmaso Eden (like “reading names”), he grasps the entire essence. Therefore, everyone can achieve a “wondrous union” with his deepest teachings.
