PHILLIES POSTCAST: Phillies BLOW Gm1 of NLDS vs Dodgers, 5-3

Christopher Sanchez was brilliant through 5.2 innings, but left a slider up a little too much to Enrique Hernandez in the 6th, and the Dodgers’ third baseman put it into the left field corner for a two-run double.

Sanchez was pulled for David Robertson and Robertson got his man as Max Muncy bounced one back to Robertson for the final out of the inning.

However, for the first time this season, Robertson was asked to come back out after already working in one inning, an “up/down” in other words and the gamble did NOT pay off. Robertson allowed two base runners to start the 7th before being pulled for Matt Strahm. Strahm retired the first two batters he faced, then surrendered a three-run homer to Teoscar Hernandez that gave the Dodgers a 5-3 lead.

The Phillies loaded the bases with two outs in the 8th, but pinch-hitter Edmundo Sosa flew out to center to end the threat.
