Jeffrey Epstein’s relationship with billionaire retail magnate Les Wexner has long been one of the most glaring red flags in the entire scandal, and yet it remains shrouded in half-answers and evasions. Wexner, the founder of L Brands and longtime power behind Victoria’s Secret, handed Epstein near-total control over his finances—a baffling decision considering Epstein had no formal financial background or credentials. Epstein was granted power of attorney over Wexner’s fortune, giving him the ability to sign checks, buy property, and essentially act as Wexner’s financial alter ego. This extraordinary arrangement allowed Epstein to embed himself in elite circles, using Wexner’s wealth, status, and companies as both cover and currency. It’s through Wexner’s empire that Epstein gained access to young women, with multiple survivors later testifying that Victoria’s Secret “auditions” and casting calls became a pipeline for Epstein’s predation.


Critically, Wexner has tried to distance himself, claiming he severed ties with Epstein after discovering his misconduct. But that explanation rings hollow given how deep and lengthy their connection was, and how many years Epstein benefited from Wexner’s patronage. Wexner was the only publicly known client Epstein ever had, the man who essentially bankrolled his rise, and yet he insists he had no idea what Epstein was doing with the access and power handed to him. This defense strains credibility, especially when one considers how meticulous Wexner was in business matters. By shielding Epstein for years, directly or indirectly, Wexner provided the infrastructure that allowed Epstein to build his trafficking network, and any attempt to paint him as an innocent bystander ignores the magnitude of his role in enabling Epstein’s ascent.
