Her first book was published anonymously in 1811, and despite the turmoil of the period, she created timeless stories that shaped our idea of novels today. This story is based on Jane Austen’s writings and letters, as well as the writings of family members and friends. Jane’s biography reveals the world that made her the author she became. Many people don’t know that one of the most insightful observers of human nature was brought up in a parsonage and wrote her own prayers for herself and her family. This story brings context to her famous novels.
