Reckoning, a small western town, plans to honor The Adventurer’s heroic flight over its heart one year ago. Sheriff Nathan Miles, a former army special operator, has been the town’s lawman for more than a year. Chosen by Reckoning’s beloved first sheriff to replace him before he passed, Nathan accepted the role of protecting a place he does not feel he deserves. Nathan struggles with guilt over his actions in wars past, as a part of him will not allow himself to be happy and embrace the paradise he swore to protect.

On the day that the world celebrates what The Adventurer did, a new evil appears. Across the country, nearly three-thousand miles away in New York City, Derek Calendine is attacked by the one who calls himself, The Mirror. A Grim Reaper-like figure with a reflective skeletal face, cloaked in black, and armored from head-to-toe begins his campaign of terror. The news of this unexpected attack reached far and wide, as its sudden and terrible impact struck fear into many. Those who are important to Derek, those who helped him become that great hero, and those who celebrate him, are targets for this new and powerful villain. The Mirror escaped in a stealth fighter jet following the fight with Derek Calendine in New York City. Fear swept over the nation as The Mirror brought death everywhere he traveled, specifically to Derek Calendine’s friends and loved ones. However, many innocent lives were lost as well in The Mirror’s vengeful crusade. On high alert, the air force scours the empty skies vacated by civilian air traffic, searching for The Mirror’s stealthy fighter to destroy it. Guided and protected by a superior and malicious A.I. consciousness, it assures The Mirror’s tour of devastation is successful.

Nathan recognized certain military-like qualities in The Mirror from some of the news clips he saw, noticing how well-trained he was. Aside from detecting The Mirror’s highly trained skills in combat, Nathan identifies a pattern so obvious that it escapes those who hunt The Mirror. In touch with a close friend in the CIA, assigned to a multi federal agency and military taskforce to find this masked terror, Nathan conveys his findings, which sheds light on The Mirror’s identity. However, Nathan’s curiosity alerts those involved in what is a sinister plot to not only erase The Adventurer from history, but to install a new state of control over the nation, all in the name of security. Aware of the danger from exposure, The Mirror takes a detour to Reckoning, pausing the destruction of Derek Calendine’s inner circle to kill Nathan. The Sheriff stands in the way of the one who brings death to his town. What was a day of celebration has turned into, as it is named, a day of reckoning.
