  • A 7-year-old died after police say the child ran onto a West Philadelphia street and was hit by a car. It happened last Saturday a little after 9 p.m.

    A car was traveling down a street in Mantua, when police say the boy ran out from between vehicles that were parked on the street.

    The driver tried to stop to avoid hitting the boy, according to officials. Investigators say the driver stayed on the scene.

    The child was taken to the hospital and died.
