When Chasin “Chase” Holden’s parents are murdered by a rival ambush of tiger shifters, he’s forced to take on the role of provider and protector to his two younger siblings. All he wants to do is find a place where they can call home. When he finds a territory run by a large gaze of raccoon shifters, he thinks he’s found the answer to his prayers. They agree to let him, and his siblings move in under the condition they work for them at their lumberyard. Things are finally starting to look up for the Holden siblings.
Like all good things, the peace they find in the gaze’s territory soon comes to an end. A pack of wolves moves in under the gaze’s radar and threatens Chase’s family if they don’t leave the territory immediately. Chase refuses to uproot his family again and goes to the gaze for help. The wolves convince the raccoons that they are like Chase and his family, just looking for a place to settle down and they refuse to help Chase. That is until the wolves decide to attack not only Chase and his brother but the sons of the raccoon leaders.
Growing up Alia Bryant was expected to pair up, have a liter of kits, and live happily ever after. Alia decided that life wasn’t for her. She not only refused to pair up, but she went to college and became a lawyer. Now she lives in Dallas, Texas working her butt off to make partner in a prestigious law firm. Only problem, her animal hates the city and refuses to let her shift. When she feels her twin brother’s pain from being attacked at the job site, she rushes home to be with him.
As soon as Alia and Chase smell each other they both know that fate has royally screwed them over. While they both acknowledge that they are fated mates, neither is willing to give into the pull. Alia won’t become a brood mare for any man or shifter just because fate has decreed them mates. Chase doesn’t think he has enough to give a mate and won’t take one until he thinks the time is right.
Two stubborn shifters, two souls fated to be together. Who will be the first to give in? Will it be Chase or Alia. Only time will tell.
