What if I can tell you that you can design and accelerate the level of success that you always wanted in your life and career? How many times have you wonder if you are wasting your time following someone else plans and dreams instead of following your own? Here is a little tip you need to know today: To be consistent, you need to focus 100 percent on the assignments you have in front of you. As an individual, you are the one responsible to build yourself up. Obviously, that’s easier said than done.

You might believe you’re thinking clearly in the moments that matter most. But in all likelihood, when the pressure is on, you won’t be thinking at all. And your subsequent actions will inevitably move you further from the results you ultimately seek—love, belonging, success, wealth, victory. According to Farnam Street founder Shane Parrish, we must get better at recognizing these opportunities for what they are, and deploying our cognitive ability in order to achieve the life we want.

Our most commonly held formula for success is broken. Conventional wisdom holds that once we succeed, we’ll be happy; that once we get that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But the science reveals this formula to be backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around.

Even when we acknowledge the need to change what we do and how we do it, life has a habit of getting in the way, upsetting even the best-laid plans. And just how do we manage those situations that can provoke even the most rational among us into behaving in ways we would rather forget?

Do you ride the escalator or do you take the stairs? No matter how you define success, it always requires one thing: self-discipline. But as popular speaker and strategist Rory Vaden explains, we live in an "escalator world", one that's filled with shortcuts, quick fixes, and distractions that make it all too easy to slide into procrastination, compromise, and mediocrity. What seems like an easier path is really much harder in the end - and, most important, it won't take you where you want to go.

Does the chance of getting caught affect how likely we are to cheat? How do companies pave the way for dishonesty? Does collaboration make us more honest or less so? Does religion improve our honesty? Most of us think of ourselves as honest, but, in fact, we all cheat. From Washington to Wall Street, the classroom to the workplace, unethical behavior is everywhere. None of us is immune whether it's the white lie to head off trouble or padding our expense reports.

A stunning new approach to how individuals can not only change their lives for the better in the workplace, but also their lives away from the office, including (but not limited to) finding ways to improve one's working relationship with others, one's overall health, outlook on life, and so on. For example, why is it that 95% of all diet attempts fail? Why do New Year's Resolutions last no more than a few days? Why can't people with good intentions seem to make consistent and positive strides in the way they want to improve their careers, financial fitness, physical fitness, and so on?

For many people, procrastination is a daily vice that prevents them from doing really important and urgent tasks when there is no outside pressure. Postponement can become a problem not only in daily private activities, but especially in professional life. Psychologists go as far as to describe procrastination as a disruption of self-regulation, since the procrastinator cannot endure anything unpleasant in the short term to achieve something positive in the long term.

Consistency is the baseline skill that unleashes all the others. Until this skill is mastered, true potential is never realized. Yet most people struggle to keep up any kind of consistent effort, especially when it comes to building their network marketing business. George Campbell readily admits for most of his life he had obvious talent and potential and yet, was infuriatingly inconsistent. Jim Packard on the other hand, is a man with an unbroken string of successes, in his personal life and in business. It is with their two perspectives that they share The Consistency Chain.

Historia
It's difficult to ask anybody "how are you?" without hearing the word "busy" somewhere in their response. We feel overwhelmed by busyness because of the demands on our time: our inboxes and our to-do lists are bulging, a huge amount of people expect things from us and our organisations are trying to do more with fewer people. But it doesn't have to be that way. In reality, busyness isn't essential. Yes, there is a lot to do, but believing you're always busy because you have so much to do is both false and unhelpful.

Resumen del Editor
This is a how-to guide for awesomeness, albeit told from someone who struggles to attain such a glorious ideal. The book outlines 24 different methods for improving one's life using a variety of studies, books, concepts, and good old personal experience to do so. The book highlights five major areas of life: productivity, conquering fear, wellness, relationships, and money and provides practical steps to improve each. Examples of such awesomeness-increasing activities include speed reading, "single-tasking" instead of multitasking, minimalism, embracing mistakes, and avoiding arguments. It is my sincerest hope that this book will aid its listeners along the path to achieve the awesomeness each of us deserves.

As high achievers, we’ve been conditioned to believe that the path to success is paved with relentless work. That if we want to overachieve, we have to overexert, overthink, and overdo. That if we aren’t perpetually exhausted, we’re not doing enough. But lately, working hard is more exhausting than ever. And the more depleted we get, the more effort it takes to make progress. Stuck in an endless loop of “Zoom, eat, sleep, repeat”, we’re often working twice as hard to achieve half as much.

What do you need besides motivation and willpower? In Commit to Win, Heidi Reeder, PhD, unpacks over forty years of research by psychologists and economists to show that the key to reaching any goal, whether it’s to hit the gym more often or to finally quit that dead-end job, isn’t motivation, willpower, or determination. It’s commitment. Busting the myths most of us believe about commitment, Reeder shows that it all comes down to four variables.
