Loving it

So I am loving this book right now. Finally a unique idea. I love anything in the horror genre and this book exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Wild, Creepy, and Weirdly Addictive

Awakening is one of those audiobooks that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. The mix of dark comedy, body horror, and totally unhinged characters makes it feel fresh and unpredictable in the best way. Rage is chaotic but lovable, Navarro is terrifying in a “can’t‑look‑away” way, and the whole fungus‑mother storyline is so bizarre it actually works. The pacing stays tight, the worldbuilding is unique, and the narration brings every disturbing moment to life. If you like horror that’s gory, clever, and a little bit deranged, this one delivers from start to finish.

Dark Comedy

This is not typically my genre of book. It was dark, gory, graphic and fast paced. Very interesting characters and it kept me wondering where the story was going to go. So many mushrooms and fungus. This was definitely a unique book and I was so intrigued that I had to keep going to just see what happened next.

Thrilling

Awakening by Terrell Chafin is a great suspense thriller horror. Terrell Chafin did a great job with the narration. The story is suspenseful, thrilling, horror, interesting, dark humor, fast paced, and more. Awakening is the first book in Mother’s Little Helpers series.
