A Face For Radio

Have you have ever wondered what it would be like to work in Radio? Well, this is my life of 40 years working in radio, mainly on the front desk; the gateway.

It was a uniquely interesting, varied and eye-opening job. I have had the privilege to work with some of the most wonderful, talented people, and over the years have welcomed lots of famous stars and celebrities, along with many of our listeners and one or two undesirables too! Working on a busy radio station reception meant we had to be able to work well under pressure, and also have a great deal of patience and understanding, but above all … a sense of humour!

The years that followed were filled with fun and laughter, hilarious antics, but there were also times of sadness and a few frightening moments. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried and I’ve been terrified, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing!
