Excellent YA kids book

I was looking for a book and or series that would be okay for my kids to read and I came across this one and it was exactly what I was looking for. It was fun, light-hearted, interesting, and original with likable characters and it was very well written. I will be moving forward in this series and plan to finish it before having my kids start it.
