Peter is just one year old when his family is stranded in the wilderness after the great quakes destroy roads, bridges, buildings, and civility in the year 2040AD. His father and mother struggle to bring him home to their city of Sutherlin, Oregon through a nine-year odyssey.

Then, at the very gates of their home, they find themselves under attack by the townsmen they counted on for refuge. Peter's early conditioning allows him to aid in his family's survival and he kills his 2nd and 3rd enemies in that battle. Later, after he joins the Elk Creek Tribe, he is taught how to deprogram himself and to hold onto those aspects he wants and to override those he no longer needs.

A Knight Shaman must first awaken his spirit from the deep slumber in which society and culture buries it under. Then, once they've awakened the inner-self, they must face the Other Worlds before they can use shamanism to bring guidance from the greater spirits to aid mankind. Peter finds that he could become a shaman as he grows. Does he want to become only the second Knight Shaman of the Elk Creek Tribe?

In the world of Paradigm Lost, the novels can be fitted into one of the three great ages. The Founder's Age tells of the formation of the Milltown Community by the Elk Creek Tribe and how they survived the world after the apocalypse of the great earthquakes of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. The Age of Jamari tells the many exploits of the Jamari Shaman, the greatest shaman the tribe ever had. Then, the Age of the Church tells of the formation of a religion around Jamari's exploits, and the inevitable corruption as the priests used the church to gain power for themselves instead of promoting the ideals of The Jamari.

This is a counter-culture work and sharply criticizes the governing forces which want to tear down basic social structures to make way for greater profit at the cost of human decency. Wouldn't it be nice to have some idea of what the term "Woke" means before either accepting or opposing the current US government's anti-woke stance? This is your chance to see how to lift your soul from under the bondage of programming and imprinting society hides it under. Do you dare to look at the alternatives a new paradigm can bring into existence?

Can you, too, become "Woke?"
