Elias Thorne was a combat engineer for the Vanguard, the elite soldiers of humanity’s Golden Age. He was the guy you called when you needed a bridge built under fire or a moon-sized fortress cracked open. He went into cryo-sleep after the Battle of Centauri expecting a victory parade.

Elias wakes up in a coffin, drifting through the rust-choked graveyard of the fleet he swore to protect. The Golden Age is a myth. The galaxy has been carved up by the ruthless Arasaka Corporation, and the stars are infested with scavenger gangs picking over the bones of the old world.
