The election of November 5, 2024, was among the most contentious in American history. Trump immediately claimed fraud as early returns showed tight races in battleground states. Trump refused to concede, claiming "massive election fraud" without evidence. His legal challenges were swiftly rejected by courts across the country, including by judges he had appointed. Still, he continued to inflame his base, setting the stage for turbulent times ahead.
