Cole Zimmerman is a former Marine and once-celebrated youth hockey coach, but after the tragic loss of his wife and sons, he has traded his playbook for a life of isolation to numb his grief in rural Minnesota. His solitude takes an unexpected turn when he reluctantly agrees to lead a girls' synchronized skating team following their beloved coach's death, forcing him to step onto the ice despite knowing nothing about the sport.

After a disastrous start where his hard-edged hockey methods cause the team to quit, Cole partners with a guarded skater named Sarah to launch a grassroots effort to rebuild the squad from scratch. As girls from across the area flood the rink to join, Cole’s journey leads him away from his past pain and toward a partnership with a compassionate dance instructor, proving that even the most broken pieces can still fit together.
