A sweet city girl meets a cowboy that comes to her rescue.

The back tires dug halfway into the fresh snow, and Sara knew digging it out by herself would be in vain. She hadn’t been home to Fur Springs for a few years, now she was remembering why, the hard winters. She would rather be with her mother and father, under a colorful beach umbrella, getting a tan. They spent every holiday at the beach and now she knew her parent’s reasoning for wanting to walk through sand rather than snow. She zipped the heavy jacket up to her chin and pulled her wool hat down tighter around her ears. Squinting her eyes up and down the snowy covered country road, she knew no one would be coming down the lonely road anytime soon. A snapshot of the scenery may have looked beautiful on a Christmas card, but she was finding out how much of a pain the white wonderland was to trudge through when tennis shoes on. To arrive at the Malone Ranch before dark, she needed to get walking. She held her phone high in the air and checked one last time for a signal, no such luck.

All the thoughts as to why she should have never agreed to come visit her aunt this Christmas kept running through her thoughts like a train whistle.

Sara tramped through the snow a good ten minutes when she heard a loud rumble behind her; the rumble had muffled the crunch her shoes had been making. This was the first vehicle she had seen on the snowy road and she was praying the driver wouldn’t be a lunatic. The faded blue truck slowed to a stop next to her and a handsome young man with a cowboy hat on hand cranked the old rusty truck window down.

“I’m guessing you are grown Sara Beth?” The stranger asked teasingly.

She looked surprised and slowly asked, “Grown?”

Levi smirked. He knew Christmas just became more interesting.
