Great Story, Outstanding Narration

Great story. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions. The tense moments and action was great. Christian Rummel's narration was also outstanding. Great voices, made listening to the story a blast! Highly recommend if you like SciFi action.

Great Story, Alien Races a Bit Cartoonish

Loved everything about the whole series except the alien races described mostly reminded me of the stuff you'd see on an old 60s episode of Star Trek. I wouldn't equate highly evolved beings with dirty babion type creatures or giant bipedal tigers.

Fun read and listen

The story leaves many avenues for the author to take the ride. I will be jumping into the next book now.

Its interresting in the start but the after an hour or Two it gets really boring but then at the last Two hours It gets really interresting. Can't wsit to hear book Two

Ranks in the high middle zone. How about 14.25 out of 20?

What other book might you compare Assault Troopers to and why?

I will compare this book to The Battle of Heligoland Bight by Eric W. Osborne. They are totally different and have absolutely nothing in common except that they both concern humans and how they act in adverse situations. As I have said previously - Stupid question Audible!

What does Christian Rummel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Christian Rummel gives an edge to the main character that works well. Also, I dig his female character voices. When I heard Jennifer's voice I had a flashback and thought I was in Dauntless' bridge in Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet series. Rummel is a pro. He made a pretty good story into a solid good story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions. I did get saddened when the main character and Jennifer, fresh out of the sweaty sack, travel into a German city. Buy book for more info. I laughed at least 9 times toward the end when one of the central characters opts out of the evil camp and fights the good fight. Solid dialogue.

Give this book a shot. Picks up nicely in the latter chapters.

Good Story over all a fair to good book. 3.5*

This must be the first part of a new saga. The story in ok and has action with drama. It could have been better but well worth the listen. I'll be waiting for part 2.

Never Fear, Creed is here!

Creed is the son of MadDog Creed, a famous space shuttle pilot. He's been through the school of hard knocks to arrive in Antarctica as site security for a research station. That's where he is when the aliens arrive in orbit and try to extinguish the human race, his dad being the first casualty.
Another set of aliens arrive, start collecting humans and Creed goes berserker on them because to Earthers one alien looks just like another right? Not to put too many spoilers out there this tale turns into an Interstellar translation of Spartacus. The tech is fun, as is the dialog among the humans, aliens and androids. One thing I found to be kind of tiresome was the sheer number of pop culture references that the author threaded into the story.
Creed is an unlikely savior of humanity but he seems to be the only one stepping up to give it a try and that makes the tale. Narration and voice ranges were excellent. Alien and world building was pretty good too. I'm giving the audio version of this four stars out of five. Space Military Opera, post apocalyptic style.

Where does Assault Troopers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book and series ranks pretty high in my audio book library. The story flows really well and there are few lulls in the flow that makes this a pretty action packed series!

Which scene was your favorite?

When they storm the ship getting off Antarctica. This set the ace for the series and it never stopped.

Very Enjoyable

This was a very enjoyable book. There were some holes / jumps in the storyline but overall it was good. This could shape into a very good series.

This is the second book by Heppner I have listened to. This one was narrated by Christian Rummel and was far superior to the other. I decided to get the next book
