• For a banished god, there are no altars. Only assignments. Areon, an exile in the mortal realm, survives by answering the prayers of other gods. From the forests of Japan, across the deserts of Persia, to the rolling green lands of the Celts. His duty is to hunt the creatures and quell the chaos the ruling pantheons would rather ignore. His only guide is a simple, burning question: where does evil truly come from? But the deeper he digs, the more he realizes the monsters he hunts are merely pawns in a much larger game. A hidden power is stoking the flames of hatred, pushing the Nine Realms toward the prophesied end of days—Ragnarok.
