Resumen del Editor

How will AI evolve and what major innovations are on the horizon? What will its impact be on the job market, economy, and society? What is the path toward human-level machine intelligence? What should we be concerned about as artificial intelligence advances?

Architects of Intelligence contains a series of in-depth, one-to-one interviews where New York Times best-selling author Martin Ford uncovers the truth behind these questions from some of the brightest minds in the artificial intelligence community.

Meet the minds behind the AI superpowers as they discuss the science, business, and ethics of modern artificial intelligence. Hear James Manyika's thoughts on AI analytics, Geoffrey Hinton's breakthroughs in AI programming and development, and Rana el Kaliouby's insights into AI marketing. This AI book collects the opinions of the luminaries of the AI business, such as Stuart Russell (coauthor of the leading AI textbook), Rodney Brooks (a leader in AI robotics), Demis Hassabis (chess prodigy and mind behind AlphaGo), and Yoshua Bengio (leader in deep learning) to complete your AI education and give you an AI advantage in 2019 and the future.

Very interesting and informstive. Very divergent opinions expressed by some very smart people. Enjoyed it very much.

Very interesting sometimes

Definitely not terrible. I did enjoy listening to different takes on general AI architecture approaches. Even though there aren't many. Most of them just keep repeating the same stuff. I really liked Geoffrey Hinton, Gary Marcus and Joshua Tenenbaum. The rest either didn't say much substantial or original about AI architecture or talk too much about social implications.
Also, if you don't have the technical knowledge in the field, you are probably gonna get bored as they get very technical often. I'd say this book is mostly for tech professionals.

A good overview of a number of key players

It took me a chapter or two to get used to the reader's voice, but after that I really stared to liked him. I didn't think I would like the book after the first chapter, but I ended up really enjoying it. I particularly enjoyed Andrew Ng... even though I'd never vote for him politically. So, stick with it for a few chapters before you decide.

While I disagree with a lot of things with most of those interviewed, I enjoyed getting their perspectice. I'm not sure if we will ever get to GAI, I am confident that the current level of ML is never going to get us there. We need a bit more then gradient descent and backdprop. And I don't believe we will ever get to conscience AI. but it is interesting listening to those that do believe it, even if my eyes are hurting for rolling them so often.

Terrible

What a terrible book! The good news is that the technology is nowhere close to being effective much less dangerous. There will definitely be some enhancements as cloud computing power gets better. There were some interesting topics that covered the different research activities, however this author has an obsession with communism that is nauseating. Don’t bother wasting your time.

It was ok.

Blah and repetitive. I would pass on this book 📚 📚📚📚📚📚. Not worth it. The story could have been written better
