I enjoyed it …sorta It is a great idea and not badly written except… it has such obvious mistakes in it! That’s why it feels like it was written by a buggy AI program. Mistakes! Weirdly simple mistakes too! Like describing the giant lizard monster as being so huge its head is as big as a locomotive. Yet a few sentences later it describes the pseudo-Godzilla’s teeth as being as “big as daggers”. A dagger’s blade can be around 6 inches or so. Isn’t that a bit small for a locomotive sized lizard head? These kind of mistakes happen all throughout the story. Why does this enormous giant lizard monster leave smaller tracks early on. How does it appear on the far mountains just below the monster ape, but a moment later it climbs up out of an earth quake ripped black sand beach next to the explorers? They find a can of film from the first group who explored the island. It’s in the old destroyed debris of an abandoned camp. Yet this found film is… developed! Where on this island of prehistoric monsters did they develop this roll of film? I mean, come on, they watch it in that same scene! So they brought a movie projector on this trip as well? Worst one is right at the end ( SPOILER! ) of the story. Back, the first time the tiny humans watch the giant ape and the enormous lizard fight, they stop filming because they run out of film. However, at the dramatic end of the story they get back to the mainland and get their film developed and it shows a happy ending of the ape defeating the lizard. That clearly happens way after they run out of film. So, the decently written story jumps around with odd plot points - it’s like they kept rewriting this weird tale, but forgot to go back and make sure the changes make sense with what’s already happened. Oh-well, the narration is not bad, it never gets in the way of the story with any “over acting”. This book isn’t all that bad. It’s a good listen …for FREE!
