While most untouchables are illiterate, her family was educated by Canadian missionaries in the 1930s, making it possible for Gidla to attend elite schools and move to America at the age of 26. Interesting point of view
As an American it was difficult for me to keep the Indian names straight. in spite of this I found the family interesting & how the caste system in India will be difficult to change.
