listening to the events from the perspective of a leading female socialite of the revolutionary era gives you a better sense of what life in those years look like and what such a woman might be influencing (through her relationships) and what she shared in her private correspondence

This gives the reader a long overdue account of the women who made the American revolution a success.

So well told. Stunned by how long it took for the USA to give women the right to vote. Between the lines is a tale of misogyny.
