i usually hear more about greek gods and legends, so it was refreshing to get into the actual history. this audiobook mixed stories of leaders, wars, and daily life with the cultural backdrop that shaped them. it wasn’t overloaded with detail, but enough to give context and keep the flow going. i liked how it showed the connections between myth and real events

I listened to this on a road trip with my mom, who’s a big history buff, and we both really enjoyed it.
