Susan Troyer likes Tobias Miller, but not enough to marry him as her father wishes. As Christmas nears, Susan travels to stay with her cousin, Eleanor, who is expecting a baby, enjoying a break from a pressured courtship with Tobias.
Levi Fisher has been helping Eleanor at her farm since her husband's passing, but becomes intrigued when he meets Susan. But Susan keeps her distance from Levi, not wanting to intrude on the budding relationship between Levi and Eleanor.
