Resumen del Editor

A warning and a wake-up call to learn history so we are not doomed to repeat it. A must-listen for anyone who longs for a promising future for our great nation.

What is wrong with America today? Is it possible America could crumble and our democracy fail?

Questions like these plague Americans and cause us to be anxious about the future of the "land that we love". Individuals may come to different conclusions, but there seems to be a common thread - the deep-seated feeling we need to improve our country. Our culture is increasingly immoral, the family structure is threatened from all sides, and government programs consistently overreach, creating massive debt.

In this powerful and prophetic audiobook, nationally syndicated columnist and trusted political commentator Cal Thomas offers a diagnosis of what exactly is wrong with the US by drawing parallels to once-great empires and nations that declined into oblivion. Citing the historically proven 250-year pattern of how superpowers rise and fall, he predicts America's expiration date is just around the corner and shows us how to escape their fate.

Through biblical insights and hard-hitting truth, he reminds us that real change comes when America looks to God instead of Washington. Scripture, rather than politics, is the GPS he uses to point listeners to the right road - a road of hope, life, and change. Because, he says, if we're willing to seek God first, learn from history, and make changes at the individual and community level, we can not only survive, but thrive again.

This powerful, timely, and much-needed perspective is a must-hear for anyone who longs for a promising future for our great nation.

Sanity In An Insane World

It’s refreshing to read, listen to, and hear what I’ve been thinking. I will not be giving into our insane leaders.

Are you a cynical Christian or a disillusioned Atheist looking for a reason to hope?

Well you’ve picked the right title! Drawing from History and written in a simple and interesting narrative, Thomas gives us both a perspective and a compelling call to learn from mistakes, in history and our Nation’s own, and how to move in a better direction forward with personal challenges and reasons to hope.

No single raindrop ever believes it’s responsible for the flood. Be the informed raindrop.

This should be taught in schools!!! Well written!!

Loved it!!

Concise and accurate.

It really should be taught in America's public schools. And Europe's schools too.

Wake Up America

What a great book. Cal covers 3000 years of history of the world and tells why all once great nations fail. Its America's turn next if the common man doesn't wake up.

Great subject matter

I felt it repetitive long winded and struggle to get through. I felt the book main points could be vastly condensed..

A MUST READ

CAL THOMAS does a superb job summarizing the rise and fall of prior super nations. A course America is going full steam ahead. Really a must read for all students wanting to learn about the history of the rise and fall of our World Empires since the beginning of civilized time. A must read for all of us concerned with where America is and where it looks like it is heading without a way to stop it.

Solid advice for America

Thomas presented a strong case that unless America learns the lessons from past empires that fell, the same downfall will occur to us. His diagnosis as our crisis being a moral and spiritual is spot on. The speeches and analysis of Solzhenitsyn in the appendices are great.

Historical Relevance

The author makes a claim that America is destined to repeat the demise of so many empires before her. Then he proceeds to walk you through history allowing the reader (listener) to see for themselves. Narration was good and worth listening to a couple times.
