Lessons Learned from An Unprecedented Pandemic

I’ve devoured Guvnor Cuomo’s daily briefings during the early days and months of the pandemic. It was a no brainer choice between Dr. Fauci-Turned-Trump-Campaign and Guvnor Cuomo’s dailies. Don’t get me wrong; I admire Dr. Fauci but soon his briefings were ambushed by the Orange Stain and made them unwatchable. I live in California and an ex-Republican. Why I’m unloading this is because I believe I’m not alone when I say Guvnor Cuomo provided guidance to Americans not just New Yorkers when things were bleak. He has the capacity and showed real leadership that no one from the federal government is capable of. He’s not perfect and he’s had misgivings throughout the pandemic but he is humble enough to acknowledge and make changes based on them. He provided morale to those who need it.
Guv - I appreciate you and congratulations on your new book. Keep up the great work and stay cool (I mean hott).

I could not stop listening. it filled in some of the behind-the-scenes as I was watching from home as everyone else. he helped me in my wife get through the pandemic a little easier.

This is such an amazing book and told so well by Andrew himself. I would and will recommend to anyone!

Genuine

Genuinely presented the everyday economic & health struggles Americans have to live with during the last ten months. I admired the Gov. strategy on building trust with the people through informal connection family style relationship. I appraised the unification with surrounding states that resulted in fast decline in spreading the virus and get it under control . This is a pilot example on how “united on tackling a national crises” works. I appreciate sharing his vulnerable side as a person , his fatherhood relation with his daughters , and his love as a son to his mother and father . This book is highly recommended for other states on how to over prepare , regardless of the financial cost , to deal with a health pandemic. It helped in saving lives, especially after having transparency to the source of the virus. We are now experiencing the 2nd wave , and NY still doing extremely better than all other states in dealing with the virus , represented in daily numbers reported . That’s because learning curve is now achieved and micromanagement in this case has better results in number of saved lives . Also New Yorkers have sense of commitments on delivering through caring for each other , and valuing lives more over economy . I can’t wait to read, listen to , the next book .

Deep Gratitude for Governor Cuomo

As he showed up every day for NYers, he was going through his own internal struggles yet never stopped showing up with a honest report to keep us informed, calm and determined to be NY Tough, Smart, Loving and Disciplined. Thank you for this book Governor, it will be a permanent part of my library. (I also have the hardcover copy) I can't imagine walking in you and your teams shoes through the deadliest pandemic I've ever experienced. Thank you for your calm words in a scary time. I support Governor Cuomo.

A North Star for Future Government

Excellent...this book was an excellent review of what government should do now and in the future to provide leadership bringing people of society together working on problems bigger than ourselves. I hope and pray that we get this message... Truthful Honest Government Leadership Matters

It also shows what can happen when government with the will of the people forges a true plan that stays with it day in and day out whether it is a pandemic or social unrest or police brutality that we can truly overcome any problem in society in fairness to all people.

Well written and well thought out book

To begin with, I’d have to admit I didn’t know that much about Andrew Cuomo. All I knew was that he is the Governor of New York and that at the beginning of the pandemic, he appeared on television for his state news briefings. After having heard his book on Audible, I’d have to say I have a different thought about him. He’s a good man who truly cares about his people. Throughout the book, you hear at the beginning of the chapter how the COVID crisis grew...and grew. But Andrew had his finger on the pulse, not only in the pandemic, but in his state and its needs. This is an interesting book and very relevant for these times. The author offers us an interesting insight and perspective into how devastating the pandemic is, and what hope we have for the future inspired by his tremendous work in the State of New York.

Highly recommend

If you want a inside look of how a real leader handled the covid crisis read this book. Andrew cuomo gave a great inside look he explains things very well and paints a story beautifully. Love this book!
