A shocking betrayal causes Kendall and Alvaro to re-evaluate everything as they race against the clock to save themselves and everyone they love. With no one else to turn to, they lean on each other until a devastating decision tests their commitment and threatens their entire foundation.
Will the steps they take to alter their fate be enough to survive?

Back when I first met Kendall and Alvaro in Dangerous Loyalty, their story was much more enemies than it was lovers. That dynamic shifted over the course of the two books leading up to this one. They built something that wasn't perfect. It was slightly scarred and slightly damaged. It was full of discovery (yeah, that kind *winks*), but more than that, it was something real and raw with parts that needed to be fixed. It wasn't an instant happily ever after moment, they've had to work for it.
At the end of the day, we love who we love despite their ugly parts and Locklyn gives us characters that aren't always perfect. They aren't inherently good nor are they inherently bad, they are simply human. They make mistakes and do what they think is right even if someone they love gets hurt along the way.
Andrew Cortes took some warming up to, but I loved his narration, especially his interpretation of Alvaro. He didn't just read the words on the page, he made them come to life and to me, that is the true tell of a good narrator. I look forward to hearing more from him in the future.
Most readers want the impossible fairytale in their romances; I love that too. More than that though, I love a story that seems achievable. A love that seems possible and Lillie gave us that and more. A part of me is sad to let go of Kendall Alvaro, but with any hopes this won't be the last time we see them come up in one of her stories.
AN EPIC ENDING!
