Alpha King’s Captive (Ariel Renner & Lila Bosch) ~~ I read Alpha King’s Captive on Kindle and also listened on Audible, and right from the beginning this book throws you straight into a world full of dangerous alphas, supernatural politics, and intense fated-mate tension. If you enjoy paranormal romance with strong female leads and powerful alpha males, this story definitely delivers. The story follows a female main character who suddenly finds herself caught in the middle of a dangerous shifter world, and nothing about her situation is simple. What starts out as a difficult circumstance quickly turns into something far more complicated when she crosses paths with the Alpha King himself. He’s powerful, dominant, and used to controlling everything around him ~ but the moment their paths collide, you can feel that something deeper is happening between them.
The Alpha King is exactly the kind of grumpy, protective, and intimidating male lead that fans of shifter romances tend to love. At first their relationship is filled with tension and mistrust, but the more time they spend around each other, the more obvious it becomes that their connection may not just be coincidence. There are hints of fated mates, hidden power, and supernatural destiny slowly building beneath the surface.
What kept me interested the most was the constant danger surrounding the characters. Enemies lurk in the background, secrets about the shifter world are slowly revealed, and there are moments where the female lead has to prove she’s much stronger than anyone expected. Watching her grow stronger and begin to challenge the powerful Alpha King added a lot of fun tension to the story.
Listening on Audible really added to the experience because the narrator did a great job bringing the emotional intensity between the characters to life. The alpha growl in the male characters’ voices and the strength in the female lead’s dialogue made the story feel even more immersive.
Overall, this was a fast-paced paranormal romance with plenty of shifter drama, powerful characters, and a strong fated-mate storyline. By the end of the book, several secrets begin to unfold, leaving you curious about what might happen next in this supernatural world.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it

The story seemed disjointed.

The narration was hard to follow due to the monotone nature of computer voice. All the characters sounded the same making it hard to discern who was speaking. The story seemed pieced together and dis not come together in a cohesive manor.
