Shanghai in 1935 is a 20th-century Babylon, an expatriate playground where fortunes are made and lost, where East and West collide, and the stakes include life itself.

Rollie and women

Why do you always use women to get Rollie mixed up with in to the plot. It’s really tiring. When is the Ed and Roland going to be a true couple? It’s getting old. Ed should realize that they will be stronger together than weaker.
It makes me cringe when you make Roland so naive, gullible , and ignorant around the two timing women.

On the Road Again!

As much as I love Rowland Sinclair's adventures in Australia, what a treat to have him travel the world and introduce us to more interesting tidbits from throughout history ... this overseas trip has him covering for Wilfred in all things family business (shocker/spoiler alert, it doesn't go well!) Per usual there is an unexplained dead body (why isn't there a travel alert attached to Rowland to make it easier for law enforcement to proactively prevent these tragedies!?) I appreciate the dangerous situations he is constantly putting himself into and it says something about the writing that each time I still question if he is going to survive, so there's that! As always, he consistently steps in to alter the everyday lives of the people he randomly encounters - some lucky, some very much not, but in all cases, for our entertainment!
