Acerca de esta escucha

After a decade trying to accept that London is home, a devastating bereavement pushes 29 year old May to return to the rural Vermont town she fled so long ago. Ignoring her sister’s strong misgivings, she immerses herself in creating a healing garden, bringing people together with the food she loves to cook, and renovating a dilapidated farmhouse until she starts to find a sense of peace and purpose. But as spring turns to sultry summer and she is thrown increasingly together with Harley, the man she loved and left ten years before, May is torn.

Will she take a risk and follow her heart, or go back to London where her ever loyal sister is longing for her return?

Mish Cromer’s latest novel of love and friendship and the healing power of the natural environment explores the impact of family, trauma and loss, and the powerful need we all have to find the place where we belong.

Full confession with acknowledgement bias I know this brilliant author. It took me sometime to make time for listening as I purchased a while ago and just finished. So happy I picked it up again . I got very invested in the characters May, Harly , Stella to name a few, to the point of non stop listening any chance I got - while working out , taking walks and even listening while in the shower. If you want a nice , easy to listen to well thought out story , as the audiobook May’s character says several times - “don’t be a git“ and miss out on this little treasure. One of best parts for me was the well attempted applications of some American regional accents spoken from the tongue of this British author. It gave me chuckles increasing my listening pleasure. Looking forward to listening to more from Ms Cromer .

Looking for something easy on the ears and a pleasant story
