Garrett Roman is just an ordinary guy. He drives the local bus, owns a townhouse, and loves to build furniture and toys. But his attorney girlfriend, Valerie Abraham, feels he could do much better and insists that he gets a higher education.

Garrett, feeling pressured by her because he only wants a simple life, wonders how long he can continue with Valerie. All he desires is her support and understanding, but he realizes that will never happen.

Until early one morning....

While driving his route he spots a young woman, Raine Oakland, running for his bus. He pulls over and waits for her, not knowing that thoughtful gesture on his part will change his life forever. As he builds a friendship with her, he finds out Raine is all he ever wanted in a woman. She's funny, supportive, and becomes his peace.

But Valerie may not go away quietly. Her dominant personality and egotistical nature will not allow him to simply walk away.
