Resumen del Editor

In this exciting, unique recording, Simon Jones brings this gripping Agatha Christie classic to sparkling new life, with authenticity and style.

Roger Ackroyd already knows more than is good for him about the woman he’s in love with, who has tragically taken her own life. Then a letter arrives. As he is reading it, Roger Ackroyd is murdered.

Exclusive to Audible, this recording is followed by a fascinating interview in which Simon Jones talks with producer Alison Larkin about his approach to narrating this book, his life and his career. Simon Jones is perhaps most famous for playing Arthur Dent in Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, his work with Monty Python and more recently, King George in the movie of Downton Abbey and Bannister in hit TV Series, The Gilded Age. Voted the Best Ever Crime Novel by the Crime Writers Association. A recording not to be missed.

Simon's AudioFile Earphones award winning audiobook recordings of Right Ho, Jeeves and My Man Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse and The Happy Prince and Other Stories by Oscar Wilde, can also be heard on Audible.

A MUST listen!

I LOVED this audiobook. Talk about a match made in heaven! The Murder of Roger Ackroyd has long been my favorite Agatha Christie novel, and I'm a big fan of Simon Jones - LOVE him in Gilded Age and Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy - two very different roles which shows his versatility, as does his performance here! So when I saw that one of my favorite actors was narrating my favorite Agatha Christie I bought it right away. I am thrilled that I did. It's a very exciting plot and with Simon Jones's narration you really feel like you are back in England almost a century ago. I had to stop the car to listen to the end, even though I knew the end as I had read the book twice before. But as an audiobook read by this actor - well it was a totally different experience. This is a fantastic listen - a top quality audiobook that I can't recommend highly enough. Also I really loved the interview at the end with Alison Larkin which was funny and interesting and also moving as both Simon Jones and Alison Larkin talked candidly. In a word - WOW!
