The story begins with the Sulaco on its return journey from LV-426. On board the military ship are the cryogenically frozen skeleton crew of that film’s survivors: Ripley, Hicks, Newt and Bishop.

We travel aboard and hear an alarm blare. Our heroes are no longer alone....

Mediocre. Lost my attention several times.

Unmemorable dialogue was overly technical or mundane. The absence of Ripley was a big mistake. The android Bishop was too clinical and almost indifferent. Hicks was good, but not enough of him. Overall, I didn't get to know or care about the characters enough to feel for them.

The sound effects and atmosphere created by sound were amazing.

This needed a better script that first built our relationship with its new characters before killing them. They felt interchangeable.

The Thrill is Back Baby!

Thanks to Paramount for resurrecting this piece of A L I E N lore. The production is absolutely stellar; it is a full-on full-cast dramatic presentation, with sound effects and the smell of buttered popcorn in the air. The two hour length and pacing is the same as a motion picture; so this is as close as we're ever going to get to the ALIEN III that might have been. (Although I am a fan of the double-Y chromo boys on Fury 161.) Having Michael Biehn reprising his role as Hicks was genius. He owns every scene with his laconic reaction to every crisis. The beloved artificial person Bishop is back as well, voiced by one of my favorites, the original Lance Heinrickson. And Laurel Lefkow must have undergone some vocal chord gene therapy using Sigourney Weaver's DNA because she sounds freakishly like Ripley in every scene, in every situation. The story is tight. The action is constant. The Xenomorphs are everywhere! What else would you expect? What more do you want? Is it cannon? It sure feels like a genuine ALIEN movie when you are immersed in it. But no, it presents some insurmountable continuity problems for Ripley's timeline. But it is an engaging experience nonetheless. Get busy and get your thrill on!

not terrible

I wouldn't recommend it unless your a member and you've got nothing better to listen too. I'm not waiting for the next installment if there was one.

Didn’t meet the expectations

I’m a huge alien fan, I’ve listened to most of the books on audible. I was excited about this since it’s nothing like the movie or alien 3 book.

This book was hard too follow and falls apart a half way through. They should have made this book atleast 5 hours to try to make it make sense

The Alien 3 we needed.

This was awesome. Thank you to everyone involved. Great story, great atmosphere, great voice acting. And HICKS and NEWT.
And extra thanks to Michael Biehn, and Lance Henricksen. I tip my hat to you. If you like Aliens....get this.

interesting story

totally loved this book but wondering if theres more because the end really wasn't done with this book got to be more to this

okay at best

I like the live action feel to it, but there were a few times I couldn't tell what was going on cause it was just an alien shrieking and no narrator to tell us who died or what exactly happened.

this should have been the movie they made

I wish this was the Alien 4 movie they had made. so much better plot and it moves the story line along. plus now that Prometius and Covenant have been released this ties in with that story more closely.

Short but Good

This was a fun experience and a completely new Alien story that I hadn't read or heard before. With the understanding that it was based off a script for a movie, this was a fun alternative point to the timeline established and opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. I do hope that this does become more fleshed out in a novel form in the future, or gets picked up and turned into a real movie at some point, since it was unfortunately lacking in some of the descriptors necessary to really get a good mental picture of what the author intended. If you enjoy Audible Originals and the Alien franchise, I recommend you check it out.

Big Alien Fan

I love the Alien series and also really love the free audible originals that pop up every once in a while. It's not worth a credit but worth one of your free originals for sure!
