Denise Parker has become Vice President in Walker, Scott and Newcomb. In the interim between the disastrous party in which her friend George Moffatt died a mysterious death and the present time,

Denise has become a member of The Light of the World, a new age religious group. She also has an ongoing but unfulfilled relationship with Sam Abbott.

With no apparent reason, Denise experiences another nightmare She has no idea why she has the nightmare, and she asks Mary Elizabeth Scott, the leader of the religious group what it means.

Some of the people that were connected to the disastrous party come back into her life.

The pace of her life picks up and finally reaches a crescendo at the twenty-fifth anniversary celebration.
