Beautiful moments

There were some beautiful moments but it wasn’t my favorite book. Worth a read, please check it out.

I wasn't ready for this collection when first I pu

I first purchased this collection of stories a number of months ago. I tried to get through the first few stories, but I lost interest. I picked it up again two weeks ago or so, and just finished the end of it. I do most of my listening while I'm driving and puttering around in my office.
I was living in Japan at the time of the earthquake, and returned to the United States a few months after. I had lived in Japan for 18 years. the stories all rang true for me.
the only thing that bothered me about the stories was that he never seems to have a satisfying ending. he seems to intentionally leave the story open-ended.
once I accepted that, it was much easier to get my head and heart around the stories. this is a collection of stories that I will probably go back to again.

Good

Not the best story I{ve listened to but it was still good. Kind of weird, which I usually like but I just couldn't follow along. It probably be better if I had a hardcopy and could see the text.

Narration

The second narrator takes some getting used to in terms of his overall tone and cadence.

Not my favorite

I love murakami, but this lacked the sharp prose that I so love. The narration was distracting.

A short story collection full of wonder and magic

This book would have been worth the price of admission if the last story were all there were to it, but each story is unique and captivating. The regular change of narrator also adds a certain freshness to each reading.

Thought provoking

I enjoyed the diversity of story type especially the one about the frog. The stories are thought provoking.

Reading is very annoying

Please 'don't act' the characters, in their imagined voices and inflections, it is not a theatrical performance an audio reading; please just read in clear and non passionate regular voice.
