It's a book to set you free, after you've woken up

I stumbled upon this book, or should I say the book found me, after a profound spiritual experience that left me in awe and confusion. I stared at the ocean for a week, not knowing why nothing in my life would ever be the same. I typed "awakening" into the search engine, and this book was the first thing that popped up for me.

There is no assumption of religion, dogma, or process; there's no recommended or endorsed pathway to awakening, only the wisdom that comes "after" awakening, which felt safe for me.

I started with the audiobook. In his elegant English accent, the author reads his own work with the authority of one who has walked the path. He never comes off as a know-it-all or false prophet, simply as one who untangled his own life after he went free and now shows us what he did.

I quickly realized I needed more than one pass through the material. I purchased the paperback, too, so I can begin underlining and tagging the many excellent references Oliver provides for other teachers, resources, and ideas that may be of value.

Through Oliver's work, I have discovered inner pathways, other perspectives, teachers, and guides I would have spent years researching independently. This book is a hidden gem, one that was written from a place of truth that could not have been written from any other perspective.

I love this book! Oliver is a highly attuned and awakened teacher. You will find yourself repeating the lessons and ideas everyday as the author is grounded in practical life. Loaded with neat-o terrific turn of phrases and ah-ha moments. I’m so glad I have the audio book to cherish as I can’t imagine a better, more relaxing voice to listen to! Kudos!
