Adventures In The Kuiper Dimension

Four college age young adults enroll at the university. They are all majoring in chemical engineering. They meet each other in a chemistry lab group. They become good friends. The friendship leads to eventual romance and marriage by the end of the novel.
During their chemistry lab assignment, they accidentally discover the formula for a compound that allows them to cross into a parallel universe, a parallel dimension called the Kuiper Dimension. The Kuiper Dimension is a parallel universe which is a utopia. It is a very advanced technologically. The people travel in personal vehicles that fly on rays of light.
Time passes differently in this world. The group can spend weeks on adventures in this new world but only minutes pass in the old world. The formula wears off and they find themselves back in the chemistry lab with only a few minutes passing. Their goal is to stay in the utopian world permanently. They must find the secret to be able to stay in the utopian world. They go back and forth many times before they find a way to permanently stay in the utopian dimension.

The main characters are:
Kristina: Kristina is the main character, and the story is told from her point of view. She is a prim and proper socialite from Boston in the USA. She welcomes the opportunity to be a normal student.

Patrick: A cowboy from a ranch near Lubbock, Texas in the USA. He is very smart, but at the same time a very rough and tough person.

Bernadette: Her friends call her Bernie. A princess from the Swedish Royal Family of the House of Bernadotte in the Kingdom of Sweden. She hides her identity from her fellow students because she wants to be treated like everyone else. She reveals her true identity to her friends later in the book.

Nathan: A very intellectual young man from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Kristina and Patrick develop a romance and marry in the last chapter of the book.
Bernadette and Nathan develop a romance and marry in the last chapter of the book in a royal wedding.
