very interesting story

i did not like the virtual voice. poor pronunciation of ibo words and sentences. made it hard to understand sometimes.

The long suffering wife

Adanna went through so much and still couldn't catch a break. It ended so abruptly I didn't know if it had ended. I don't know how I feel about how her life went. it's like the calamities shall never end. the AI read was probably the only way I would get to read this book but it was poor when it came to the language so I'm sure I missed out a lot. Though I understand Igbo it was hard to make out atimes.

Be Emotional Prepared For SA & DV themes

The girl could not catch a break. She had to grow up and mature as life kept handing her blow after blow. A very traumatizing read but loved it all the same. The author’s imagination should be studied. The narration wasn’t great, since there were a lot of Igbo words that needed delicate pronunciation but I got the gist of it. Great book!

Oh My God! What a Story!!!! KayDonovan

The story in this novel is heartbreaking, heartwrenching, gruesome, and SAD. But those are the qualities that make for a great story. If the author had gotten a Nigerian to read this story (instead of the Ai) generated voice, it would be 5 STARS ALL AROUND.

But I do have some issues with how weak and always helpless the author portrayed her main character to be. It's very unlikely that a woman with so much spirit would allow herself to be continously beaten, battered and raped by the same man. She should have taken a couple large knives into her room and stabbed him already. Or poison his wine like. But I would have killed both him and the father instead of going through all that humiliation. But alas, the story stirred my emotions, mostly anger. It affected me. I didn't think I could have completed it but I did.
