Abby's Maze

Abigail (Abby) Conway is a lawyer approaching a critical point in her career. After ten years with a firm she joined fresh out of law school, and having built her section of the practice into a major profit center, she has been repeatedly passed over for full partnership. To add insult to injury, a new hire with political influence becomes an equity partner after only six months, and made chair of the committee that governs Abby’s compensation. The new hire then undertakes to make Abby’s professional life as unpleasant as possible.
While Abby weighs her future with the firm, she becomes involved in several litigated proceedings which quickly escalate into open combat. One of her opposing counsel has a criminal history of violence, and threatens her personal safety. At the same time in a second case, the FBI focuses on her client, a sympathetic widow. A third case involves dueling claims of undue influence between a woman, her brother, and their elderly mother, with a tragic outcome. When an unexpected life changing event impacts Abby and her husband, she is forced to navigate a maze of challenges and choices, both personally and professionally.
