Where am I? A question asked. A simple question for most situations, but this one is different. A character I created has stumbled out of his story and is now back in my creative center, waiting for me to give him answers, waiting for me to send him home. I scramble to find out where he belongs, searching my brain, searching my notes, searching anything for a clue, only to find a smattering of information. I learn that he belongs in one of six stories, but I do not know which one it is. He and I (to the chagrin of the character) must journey together into each story in order to find the one place he calls home. I, of course, do not write love stories. I write horror influenced by the works of Stephen King and other great horror authors. The character must journey into these worlds populated by the foulest of things. He must endure and endure and endure punishment after punishment in order to get back into story, back to this family, back to the life he once knew. And it is up to me to get him there no matter how hard or painful it is. Will he get back? Will he survive? Will I get him home? The answers lie within the pages.
