One abandoned estate. Millions of viewers. A hunger that never sleeps.

Emily and Caleb thought they had won the real estate lottery—a cluster of forgotten cabins tucked away in the shadows of the mountains. It was the perfect backdrop for their viral renovation series. But as the cameras roll, the landscape begins to push back.

The restoration was supposed to be a fresh start, a way to escape the crushing debt of the city. Instead, they’ve stumbled into a world ruled by ancient debts and bloody folklore. When a local recluse delivers a warning painted in blue, the couple realizes too late that they aren't the ones in control of this narrative.

As their youngest child is drawn toward a predator with a jagged, bone-white grin, the family must decide how much they are willing to sacrifice for the "content" of a lifetime. The timber is calling, and it doesn’t care about your engagement metrics.

Discover a visceral tale of rural dread where the line between the digital world and the primal dark disappears. If you hear your name whispered from the brush, keep walking.

They are watching. They are waiting. And they are very, very hungry.

I found the story to be captivating however as a dog lover I can't imagine losing dogs to something like this. I know it's fiction but it still makes me feel uneasy.

This story has an odd feel to it. Sorta like who ever wrote it was not human. Yet, the writer knew a lot about humans …except what logical reaction humans would have if a creepy forest god ( one that seems to be able to manipulate reality! ) started terrorizing them & their children. This starts right after they move into the very remote & infamous weird & spooky house. Why, they’d stay in that house. Darn right! This was expensive y’know! They’d tough it out. Maybe post all the scary events on line.
Yes I know if people in the scary movies and books did the logical safe thing to do… you’d never have a scary story. What I don’t like about those set-ups is when the reader figures out what’s gonna happen WAY before the characters in the story. Oh, a couple of times I couldn’t figure out how many kids the couple have. Two, right? But the scary thing at the lake clearly has then with 3 kids. And if there is a fire how far do you run to get away…. Edge of your large yard, or deep into the haunted forest? Just asking.
