A sheriff struggling to fill the hole left in his daughter’s life after her mother skipped town, a labor and delivery doctor visiting for a retreat, and the winter storm that strands them together.
Matthew Hart has two full-time demanding jobs, and he’s doing a terrible job at both. When his ex-wife left him to raise their toddler on his own, he didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to manage it along with being the local sheriff. With Christmas drawing near, he wishes to find a way to make his daughter happy again.
Dr. Linda Morison didn’t want to go on the retreat her hospital planned for the staff, but she doesn’t have a choice. It’s mandatory. So when she takes a new sleeping pill to help her get some much needed rest, she wakes up to find not only did she miss the evacuation of the resort, but she’s snowed in with the local sheriff and his young daughter.
