A View and a Victim

A cozy mystery set in and around Seattle! On a bright and sunny summer morning, Veronica is on a hike, when a friend's dog leads her to a woman's dead body in a ravine. Turns out, the victim was a popular author of dystopian-future novels. At a first glance, nobody had a reason to want Kara O'Shay dead. But as Veronica digs deeper, she finds that plenty of people benefit from the writer's death. And it turns out Veronica met her before, just the previous afternoon, under somewhat confrontational circumstances. And there's also a matter of some anonymous internet threats -- right up her alley, as Veronica is a computer security engineer. And now someone is following Veronica around. She needs to find the truth before she, too, ends up dead. The efficient assistant, the rising restauranteur, the forgotten ex-husband, the wanna-be rockstar boyfriend, the overshadowed editor, the disgruntled journalist, the shady psychic -- who killed the famous author?
