The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 42According to Carl Jung, a train in a dream symbolises that the dreamer has not yet found their own path in life, that they are on the same path as everyone else… they are a part of the herd as they move forward in life. In a train, there is a message of change, transition, overcoming and vision for the future.A young child, in Rudolf Steiner’s perspective, is a sense organ… an eye. A train symbolises this as all the things viewed out the window of the train become one ever-changing view to create the fun travelling experience that children and adults adore. The train sees everything as it judders around the landscape. It’s no surprise that we “train” our eyes! The name “Ain” means “eye” or “fountain”, so we have an etymological connection between a train and the rain! Each individual droplet of rain yields to gravity and acquiesces downwards with all the other droplets of rain. Each drop of rain is part of the “herd”! Rain changes the landscape and it symbolises change and the need for change in the individual…. similar to the dream of a train. The story “Which Was The King”, shows that children are on the train of life, yet with a higher perspective. Children see that we are all part of the herd, in a higher sense, we are all one and the same. The child is “on the train” seeing everything as it is and absorbing it as one experience. The child doesn’t see a king as any different to himself, because they both have the capacity to wear a hat! The child doesn’t see authority in a uniform or a badge but is only indoctrinated into it from the behaviour he sees in authority figures. A hat is a hat, and a tyrant is a tyrant!A fun family activity is to role-play a train ride which is explained at the end of this episode. Allowing your young child to be the conductor allows the imagination to run wild. Where will your family go on this train ride? What is the symbolic meaning of the destination that your child chooses? Is it symbolic of the direction in which the world is heading? Is it symbolic of where your young child wants to go in life? It’s up to the adult to decode the meaning, but there certainly is a deeper meaning to the chosen destination… and it’s part of the fun…. the messages and symbolism received from young children is why I’m here doing The Secret Kindergarten. The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children is live every Saturday 2.00pm-3.00pm Eastern Time on Revolution Radio (Studio A): https://www.revolution.radio/https://thesecretkindergarten.com/MUSIC by Nancy Stewart of https://nancymusic.com/The Cycle of WaterI Love WaterGratitudeThere’s a Little Wheel a Turnin’ in my HeartRow Your Boat and Things That GoAUDIO STORIESHawkshaw, Anne. “Raindrops”.
