No one would ever forget the summer Jake Quincannon came back to Riverbend – and turned the head of the town librarian.
Paige Cudahy had always been such a sweet, quiet girl. She’d never gotten into any trouble, never done anything to stir up gossip on the local grapevine but she certainly set tongues wagging when she took up with the small town’s returning rebel.
With his big motorcycle and his black leather jacket, not to mention the eye patching covering one eye, it was obvious that nearly twenty-year-old predictions that Jake would come to no good had been right on the money. There was just no understanding what a nice girl like Paige could see in the dark and dangerous man Jake had become.
