Anyone can sink into a deep mental and emotional darkness when negative thoughts constantly flood the mind. For years, author, Jessica L Lyons battled this darkness until she was shown how to finally bring it into the light of freedom. In this deeply personal book, Jessica shares how she experienced the power of a stone’s cry through her personal relationship with Holy Spirit. This book speaks to many people on different paths in life, who at one time or another must master the secret place of the mind. This journey to breaking free from feelings of depression and even suicide provoking thoughts must begin on a foundation of transparency, coupled with the belief that freedom of your mind can be as close as the sound of your own voice.

Overall, I thought that the book's message was very positive and inspirational. I really loved how it encouraged others to speak out when they are in need of help, and I admire the author's courage in sharing her very personal experiences with dark and suicidal thoughts. I also thought the narrator did a great job of reading the book clearly with lots of emotion and passion. As I was listening to the audio, some of the sentences sounded like poetry because they were so beautifully written and read.
There were some issues that I had with the book. I did think that the book became very repetitive at times and had a lot of filler. I also thought that some of the situations discussed could have been described with more detail. For example, when the author mentions her family's issues with job security, she didn't talk about the job industry or what exactly lead to her husband's lay off (job moved overseas? budget cuts?).
After taking everything into consideration, I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
A Very Positive Book
