They are facing an implacable foe in Golsubril Vex, a merciless, but highly effective, autocrat from the Waywork’s most brutal regime. Vex is determined to control the new Waypoint and whatever revelation or power lies on the other side.

Now humanity’s fate - to live in freedom or endless dictatorship - depends on just what that revelation might be. And who gets there first.

Interesting premise that just ends

Guessing this was supposed to be a series but I'm reading this 6 years after release and there's nothing.
With that in mind the story was fairly good but it really dragged at several sections and just when it seems like the story is finally ramping up everything ends on a massive cliffhanger.

Meh

I bought this book because it won the 2019 Dragon award for best Sci-Fi. I wanted to really like it and was psyched to get started, but this book just never grabbed me.

I felt the characters were flat, there was very little suspense or mystery and everything was pretty linear. The plot dragged a lot - especially in the first half of the book.

It isn’t a terrible story, it’s just middle of the road at best. Below my expectations of best sci fi book of the year.

Absolute Enjoyment

This was an excellent story, well produced, and well narrated. I had trouble stopping it so I could sleep. It hit all the bells for me and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

fun story

A fun read with a few small problems

The production team missed several mispronunciations that really interrupted the flow of the story. I'm not going to hold it against the narrator but I found it quite irksome.

Familiar and New

This novel was exceptional sci-fi. It had a familiar feel like the best of Star Trek, and yet it had a raw, new feel to going where no man has gone before.

I came across Torgersen while reading some short sci-fi and then read his debut novel, The Chaplain's War, way back when. I've been waiting a long while to read more. It's enjoyable writing, and creative ideas.

A Star Wheeled Sky did not disappoint. In fact, it is some of the best sci-fi I've read.

The galaxy is at war, humans generations after earth are fighting over a power they don't understand and only think they control.

At the end, I was both excited that it seems there's more to come in this series and disappointed because I don't want to wait for the next installment. But I will. As this story was well worth the previous wait.

worth the money!

This is a great book. The reading is very enjoyable. there is some distortion in the recording but it's not too bad.

Great story in an exciting new universe!

Brad Torgersen returns with an exciting new story. What happens when a gateway reveals a hitherto unknown galaxy and two star-spanning civilizations want control of it?
Well done, will definitely listen to again.

So when can we get a sequel?

I really struggled to stop listening to this book. Taking the long route home while driving...

TORGERSEN AND SOUDEK KICK ASS
