Resumen del Editor

Lady Ophelia Darby exists in two worlds. In one, she is the impudent, willful daughter of a powerful marquess and darling of the ton. In the other, she moves through the underworld's shadows as songstress Lady Starlight, protected only by the notoriously wealthy scoundrel Devlin Byrne. But when she stumbles upon her beloved father's darkest secrets, the line between her two worlds quickly blurs. Now she needs the help of the one man a lady should never trust.

Devlin Byrne stands on the edge of London society, knowing he will never be accepted. No one else knows that his obscene wealth and ruthlessness aren't without purpose. Or that his purpose has golden-brown eyes that shimmer with mischief, the palest of skin, and a lush mouth that beckons to be kissed, and deeply. But having Ophelia is only the beginning of Devlin's plans.

It's undeniable that Devlin Byrne is a dangerous temptation—but just as Ophelia begins to trust him, maybe even fall for him, she discovers she's not the only one with secrets. And his would lead her down more than just the path of scandal . . .

Contains mature themes.

Delightful tale

This was a delightful tale to this series and fits in well to the other story lines from this author.

Narrator was ok but seems like she had a lisp to her ending words but pleasant to listen to

Loved the story and the narrator.

Thank you Stacy for an amazing story, well worth the purchase. Please keep Mary Sarah as the narrator, she is unique and I love the way she delivers the story line. Her voice is great for both male and female. The story has some twists and turns and I love the whole childhood love story in the beginning. The book flowed flawlessly and showcased how young ladies were pushed into marrying for title and bloodline. Her father was a typical selfish aristocrat that cared little for others especially their mistresses. Well done😊

Terrible narration

The story was good, I'm a sucker for a childhood friends to lovers, but the narrator almost made this unbearable to finish. I regret spending my money on this, wishing I'd just stuck with the e-book. I had to speed it up to even tolerate hearing her voice. Just awful.

A new favorite!

I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Stacy Reid, but A Scoundrel of Her Own is a new favorite. Devlin Byrne’s steadfast, vulnerable, endearing love for Ophelia has made him one of my all-time favorite historical romance heroes. I enjoy all historical romance tropes, but I REALLY love a story whose character’s conflict is handled with honesty, maturity, and character consistency, and this book does that until the very end.

The story begins with Ophelia and Devlin forming an intense but short friendship as children and reconnecting later in life, with what felt like an unrequited love element. It’s set up should have felt unrealistic, or lacking foundation, but the emotional depth always felt so genuine and well developed. Identities are secrets are revealed early on, so the relationship conflict centers around classism. I highly recommend.

I did not love the narrator. By the end she got better, or I adjusted, but I’m particular about narration, so I gave a generous three stars.

Sensual with a great storyline!

I really liked this book. Actually, I like all the books in this series, and I'm anticipating the story of the other sinful wallflowers. Stacy showed a great sense of humor and wit. There qas some steamy parts that curled my toes...lol. The narrator male voice was perfect. Not all narrators can have that strong voice of a man. Love it. This is a must-read!
