A REAPER MADE is a great paranormal. Grace was killed unexpectedly in a car crash, and when the Reaper Tully comes to collect her soul, he sees a caring nature in her that leads him to offer an alternative. Become a Reaper like him. It's the perfect "profession" for Grace, although she struggles a bit with following the rules. Andrea Emmes is the perfect narrator for this book.

A different take on a familiar idea

A reaper comes for souls at death to lead them to transition. But how do they get to be a reaper? What can go wrong? It all goes sideways for the heroine after she has been a reaper for three years, but with a lot of help from some friends, things are set right. Storytelling at it's finest!
AE proves to be an excellent audio performer who gives voice and depth to each of the characters without resorting to a melodramatic tone.

This was such an entertaining read.

Grace is a "made" reaper. She was given the option because she dies early. She hasn't been a Reaper long and still has living family and remembers life before. At the moment her life seems to revolve around helping old people move, that is until "made" reapers seem to be disappearing along with some of the souls they are supposed to help on. Graces' mentor and maker Tully, seems to suspect Demons, but if that's right then how are they going to find it and kill it. When Graces' living family is in danger, she knows it's up to her to stop whats happening, but how can she do it without breaking the rules and revealing herself?

I haven't read many Reaper books but the ones I have read, I've loved. This is no different!!

I loved Grace, she was spunky, brave, strong and loyal. She knows what she is supposed to do, but she also knows whats right and that rules only apply if people aren't getting hurt. She knows what can happen to her if she breaks the rules, but she doesn't let that affect her and does what she can when people are in danger. I also loved Tessa! The sassy and rebel witch ;)

One thing that stood out for me was the relationship between Grace and Tully. Despite him being her mentor her left her be herself and didn't try to change her. She respected him and looked up to him but stayed firm to her own beliefs too. They worked well together and it shows.

I loved the plot too. The author has created a unique and engaging world and one that sucked me in. She threw curve ball after curve ball and made the reaper lore more interesting. Add in Demons, lost souls, shifters and witches, and you end up with a great story. I'm sad in a way that it's a stand alone because these characters will steal a bit of your heart!!

In all, this was a fast paced and fantastic read. It will grab you from the first page and not let go. With it's sassy snarky characters to it's captivating story, A Reaper made is a must read. I will definitely be checking out more from Liz Long!!

What can I say about Andrea Emmes that I haven't said before!! She is just an amazing narrator and I can't fault a single thing. She always makes the story her own and brings the characters to life. She gives each character their own personalities and gives it her all!

I loved how stereotypical characters were given new life in this book. Complex characters and unusual interactions.

Andrea was really good in this...she nailed it...I loved every minute of it!!!

This was a great listen from start to finish, leaving me wanting more, more, more!!!!! lol

Grace was killed by a drunk driver at a very young age...she was just a teenager still and because of this she was made a reaper...She has been helping souls cross over at a retirement home for quite some time..and kind of likes it! Well reapers are coming up missing...so her, her mentor Tully and a witch friend Tessa start looking into this...and find out not only are reapers missing, souls are not being reaped....Grace gets very frightened for her family and goes under cover to save the day!!

GREAT LISTEN, STORY, NARRATION LOVED IT...NEED A BOOK 2!!!! :)
